"We decided not to cook for Thanksgiving this year since
it was only the two of us. She looked beautiful as always so I
was hoping that the Applewood Inn would be a special experience
for us. This place did not let us down!! Nice ambiance in the
restaurant, classy without feeling stuffy. The wait staff were
all young, attractive, well mannered, and friendly. Special props
to Lucas, you were an excellent waiter.
The food was spectacular!!
They offered a four course meal that delivered well. Everything
was very flavorful and well presented. We could not have been
more pleased with our Thanksgiving experience here. $65 per person
was a bargain for what we were treated to. I will definitely be
visiting again."

as I didn't stay here, but this IS the place to eat in Sonoma.
The ambiance is cozy, without pretention. The rack of lamb is
some of the best I've ever had. The service is outstanding. The
food was so delicious, I wouldn't mind sampling everything on
the menu. They also have an extensive wine list to chose from
the local wineries. Overall, A+ dining experience and I'll be
back again for sure."
"I
would like to thank you for an absolutely fantastic meal on Tuesday
evening. The
service was impeccable; the food was fresh, perfectly prepared
and plentiful; the wine list was complete, comprehensive and comfortable.
Our only regret was that the season premiere of House was at 8pm
that night and we didn’t have enough time to enjoy the chefs
choice menu. I guess that means that we’ll have to come
back again next year when we are in Sonoma again." -Tim Korby
"My husband, Eric and I just wanted to tell you what
a wonderful evening we had recently at the Applewood Inn on
October 22, 2008. We were coming back from a day in Bodega Bay
and decided to stop and see if you had room for two for dinner.
We were early so we sat in the courtyard and enjoyed a glass of
wine. We chatted with you as you made your way from the kitchen
jokingly asking if we wanted to buy an inn. We had stayed in Glen
Ellen this time for our anniversary but have spent several lovely
visits there at your place. We
were seated promptly at a lovely little table by the rear fireplace.
The meal was amazing! We decided to splurge and have the chef’s
tasting menu. Heck, we skipped lunch so all the more reason to
indulge. It was beyond our expectations. Each time the waitperson
brought out the next course, we couldn’t wait to try it.
I have never had ravioli made with squid ink but it was delicious
paired with the scallop. My husband ordered the steak entrée
and I had the lamb. Each was excellent. I just can’t tell
you enough how much we enjoyed the meal. It is the best we’ve
ever had and we’ve had a lot of tasty ones. We go to the
coast each year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We’ve
dined in Monterey, Carmel, and as far up the coast as Mendocino.
This was by far the most delicious and the presentation was beyond
gorgeous. Your staff is well trained, educated about the food
and most of all, so delightfully pleasant. Thank you again for
helping us celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary in style! "
